Max Fontaine, a freelance intel agent recovering from a gunshot wound is given a busywork assignment to investigate the reported grounding of a U.S. naval vessel in the Bahamas. He brings down drug traffickers and faces the wrath of a sea creature when returning to the site of a sunken treasure ship and finally learns that all what glitters is not always gold but can sometimes be better than gold.
